Beaten, bruised and bored!

Welcome to the new home of my blog. I hope you like the title - Saf seemed to enjoy it.
Today was another day that started early. 8:30 today. Woke up. Realised i had forgotten to make the card for my mum. 5 mins later had brushed teeth and sorted the card. And so began the 2.5hr build up to rugby. A big breakfast followed by getting my kit bag. Listened to REM whilst getting changed. Was a cold windy day, so i decided to wear my pads and lycra shorts (oh yeah how cool am i) under my kit. I was so glad that i did.
After arriving at Morley RFC and warming up for half an hour in the wind, trying to work on a way not to drop the ball in high winds we went in to find out the opposition (Yarnbury) had only 13 players. For those of you who arent familiar with the game of rugby union you need 15 players for a game. I was one of the two that were placed on their team. Playing on the wing. Managed to look like i was trying for them and at the same time giving Morley an advantage. Last time i played on the wrong team i made a match saving tackle against chris beck. He wasnt happy. He said this time that i didnt give him enough time to rip the ball, so owe him another try. Ah well. I cant win really. Playing with the wind Yarnbury managed to take a considerable lead, whilst Morleys forwards were taking the strain. A few silly kicks by adam into the wind let the team down. Highlight of the half was Holmesy getting in for his first try! Congrats there.
At half time i swapped onto Morley. I was able to bring my blistering pace into the side :p. Playing with the wind again i had a lot of running to do. Morley really performed in this half, getting over the line over 5 times! We scored 2 tries in this half, samir getting over the line 3 times yet not scoring. He was so angry. Also the referee missed a try that Chris G scored (helped by me i hasten to add) because he was more interested in giving Chris Kelly a yellow card. I missed what happened but i have heard two accounts from other people: he stood on someones head or he stood on their shoulder. Anyone that knows Chris will know he isnt malicious. Never mind. One minute to go and the result rested on a kick from adam. Could he convert the try to make it 19-19? Seconds went by as he placed the ball and chose his run up. The crowd were silent. He started his run up, and Yarnbury started to charge it down. The ball drifted slightly wide. He was not happy with himself. But the game continued for the last minute, with Yarnbury on the attack. Final whistle with no change in the scores. Well played Morley. The highlight for me was my charge down on the full backs kick. Bounced off me towards touch. I dived on it, then was about to get up when the ref said i was in touch. He seemed to be the only one who thought that. Well what the ref says goes. And in rugby union we refer to him as "Sir" and respect his decision. Not like in the pathetic game of football.
This afternoon i am gonna be online until i start cooking tea for my mum. Hopefully wont screw that up.

Ooh - Update:
Just remembered the funniest thing that happened today. Si from rugby had hurt his shoulder and couldn't move his right arm above his shoulder height, but was trying to put his pads on. He struggled so much. Then he got james g to help. This made things worse. James first moved his arm, he groaned... then pulled the pads over him, which caused Si more pain and he made more noises of anguish. Imagine what people must have thought outside of the changing room... A whole load of guys in there and one of them groaning and shouting... ;)
